Cardamom, sometimes Cardamon or Cardamum, is a spice made from the seeds of several plants in the genera Elettaria and Amomum in the family Zingiberaceae. Both genera are native to India, Bhutan, Indonesia and Nepal. Cardamom is a spice with a strong, perfumey, resinous aroma and a sweet flavor. It is commonly used in Indian and Arabic cuisines, both in sweet and savory foods and in drinks.
